الیکشن کمشنر غیر جانبدار ہونا چاہئیے لیکن مسلم لیگ ن ہر کام اپنی مرضی کا چاہتی ہے۔ مئی دو ہزار تیرہ سے پہلے الیکشن ہونے کی کوئی وجہ دکھائی نہیں دیتی۔ پیپلز پارٹی اور اس کے اتحادی مئی دو ہزار تیرہ سے پہلے الیکشن نہیں چاہتے۔ سینٹ الیکشن میں ہم پیپلز پارٹی کے ساتھ مل کر اکثریت حاصل کر لیں گے۔

High Poverty: Pakistan ranks 145th out of 187 countries on the UN's Human Development Index and appears to be falling behind its neighbors.The poverty rate was 17.2 percent in 2007/8, although broader measures suggest poverty incidence was almost 50 percent.
Over the past few years, low growth and high inflation, especially food inflation, and two major floods have probably led to an increase in poverty.

World Bank Governance Indicators rank Pakistan at 25.8 for Government Effectiveness (GE), 30.1 for Regulatory Quality (RQ), 25.6 for Rule of Law (RL), and 12.0 for Control of Corruption (CC), on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the strongest. While Regulatory Quality and Rule of Law have seen some improvement over the past five years, Government Effectiveness and Control of Corruption have dramatically declined.
 

 

Agricultural sector trend growth had slowed to 2.7% in the 2000s after an annual average of 4.4% in the 1990s. This development does not bode well for Pakistan's economy, which is heavily dependent on agriculture. The sector contributed 21% of GDP in 2010.
