Sadaqah (Charity) in the form of Sacrifice:
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Give Sadaqah without delay for it stands in the way of calamity." (Tirmidhi #1887)
The Prophet (PBUH) also said, "Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire." (Tirmidhi #2541)
Through our Sadaqah Project, Hidaya Foundation (www.hidaya.org) distributes cash or meat to poor families throughout the year. For Sadaqah in the form Sacrifice, animals are usually sacrificed within 72 hours after donations are received. It costs $100 per goat/ sheep, and $350 per ox/buffalo.
